The World is Just Not Fair!

Okay, so it was my own fault! But...

My son and daughter-in-law are vacationing in Italy today. My son sent me an e-mail that they are going on a 'dark night' ghost tour of Rome tonight (after spending the day at the Vatican, that should be quite a twist).  But the last line is the clincher,he says  "it's her birthday today, so she gets to choose what to do", and then the bottom fell out!   Holy Smoke, how could I forget that her birthday was coming up.  This sweet young woman, the mother of my only grandson, the  wonderful wife of my only son.  I must be the worst mother-in-law on earth I start to think....

But wait,  why is it that when it's my mother-in-laws birthday, I remind everyone in the family, and if it's my husband's birthday I'm on the phone making sure the kids remember. Daughter's birthday, sister-in-law, etc. etc. etc.   So how come no one seems to think sharing this very important information with me would be beneficial, so I don't look like a wretch!    I've decided my family has had a melt-down. After all, isn't that what family is suppose to do, look out for each other!   Who's looking out after me?  After all, I spend my whole day getting my clients organized; it doesn't seem fair that I can completely forget about my own little world!

Well, of course it's water under the bridge by now.  She knows I didn't remember, I know I didn't remember and I will have to spend some real quality time coming up with something special at this point.  Now don't get me wrong, she won't say a bad word about me...she won't have to.  As the queen of everything organized I am in total dismay all on my own!  And of course, my daughter the clone, who also seems to have inherited the "organized" gene,  will be hearing from me next!   After all, doesn't she realize how many times I got her out of tight situations? Were is the love?

Hmmmm
