Wow- There's lots of news!

Quicksilver Business Solutions has really moved forward in the last 30 days!

First, I want to welcome my new partner, Ms. Victoria Dull.  Vicki has been working for Quicksilver for approximately 6 months, and as of September 1, has become a full equity partner.  She brings skills and resources that compliment mine, and makes us twice as capable.  I'm thrilled to have her as a partner and look forward to her input and assistance in growing the company.

I also want to welcome Kathy Andreatos, our new Executive Administrator.  She has been learning the business for about a month now.  She comes with great Admin skills, and already knows QuickBooks.  She will be a busy lady with Vicki and I going at full speed!  We hope she can keep us on the straight and narrow.

And last, but not least, we have moved to great office space at 402 Carl Street in Wilmington.  This brings us all together, with a place for Keri too.  We will be able to work more efficiently, and clients now have a place to bring their work and meet us as necessary.  Bringing all of us together into one spot was a major undertaking, and we are happy to say we are now settled in.  We still have some areas to work out, but in general we are already very comfortable and ready to take on additional clients.

It's been a lot of planning, scheduling, packing, unpacking- but all that is behind us and we are looking forward to moving ahead.

Whether to Upgrade to '09 QuickBooks

Many may not realize that Intuit supports only three years behind, therefore, if your company is still working in Version ’06 or prior, definitely upgrade to ‘09. You will be very pleased.

Each year Intuit creates improvements, but companies must decide if those improvements will actually make a difference to the way they will use their financial software.

There are three new areas I feel are the strongest reasons to upgrade to the ’09 version. The first is Company Snapshot. This new icon immediately gives a split screen view of your entire company’s finances. You can see a graph of your income and expense trends, a listing of your chart of accounts, accounts receivable and payables, and reminders. If you consider yourself a visual person, this one feature might be worth the upgrade. Second, they have improved the downloading capabilities from your online banking account into your QB files by giving stronger data sorting capabilities. The last, and most important to people such as myself is Client Data Review. The Administrator or external Bookkeeper can access this area to check on everything that has changed since the last review. Merged accounts, changes in items, voided transactions, etc. can all be viewed and then accepted or fixed here. If there are several users in the company program who make changes through the month, this one feature may be the reason an upgrade is warranted.

It is only necessary to upgrade if you feel the new features warrants the purchase price. Remember, making sound financial decisions relies on the information you enter into your Financial Software and if you allot time to review it.
