Something great is coming! A Book Club!
A few business minded women are getting together next week to chat about how to bring a "Business Book Club" to our local area of Wilmington, NC. How cool will that be! Ok, so it is a little geeky, but I just love to read business books. I'm usually reading one along with a 'regular' book on any given day. I'm already in a Book Club that I started about seven years ago, which meets every six weeks. Ours in unconventional, in that we don't read the same book. We choose an author, or a type of work and we each get to pick our own. But to tell you the truth, I am my happiest when I have a great business book in my hand.
I can't wait! What was the last good business book you read? Why did it excite you? Please tell me so I can share your input with my fellow bibliophiles! Want an invitiation when we begin? Just let me know.
We are moving forward! Our new book club has a name: The Woman's Business Book Club of Cape Fear.
Our first meeting is scheduled for September 23, at the Main Library at 201 Chestnut St. (Wilmington) in the Cape Fear Room at 6 pm. All women who love to read about business are invited. Instead of just reading a book and moving on to the next one, and never really applying it fully, we are going to discuss the book together, and talk about how to use the information. We will learn from each other, the good, bad and ugly.
If you want to network with other like minds, while getting into more depth in your reading, join us. You must RSVP by sending us a response to MyQuicksilverAssistant@gmail.com. Give us your name, and the name of your company.
Our first book will be The Girls' Guide to Building a Million-Dollar Business by Susan Solovic. Make sure you have read to Chapter 5, page 89 (only) and come with notes about how it applies to your business and what you feel you can put in place from the information. Did something resonate with you? Mark it for open discussion.
Ladies, the founders will be sending an invitation to approximately 300 of you that are in our collective data base. We hope to benefit our businesses by expanding our knowledge base through exploring what we read.
Mark your calendars, our meetings will be the fourth Tuesday of each month.
